ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
o Inspects fire extinguishers for proper chemical level, hose condition, tank integrity and documents inspections as required
o Inspects exit and emergency lighting for proper operation and makes necessary repairs or forwards deficiencies to supervisor for further action. Maintains required documentation of inspections.
o Assists with minor electrical maintenance to include but not limited to replacement or repair of lighting fixtures (e.g. incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tube replacement, ballasts, sockets, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools
o Performs preventative maintenance on HVAC and other air handling equipment (e.g. replacing air filters, belts, greasing and oiling motors, pumps and associated equipment)
o Performs plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of drains, faucets, toilets, unclogging of drains and similar devices, etc.)
o Maintains appearance of interior finishes (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, replacement of ceiling tiles, etc.)
o Reconfigures, installs and moves offices and other spaces (e.g. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, pictures, etc.) to accommodate user needs using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks
o Prepares surfaces and paints various structures and equipment to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion and maintain a safe, comfortable working environment
o Accepts shipments of supplies from vendors and stocks supply areas as needed, documents receipt of supplies
o Forwards parts requests to supervisor
o Maintain required documentation
o Performs other maintenance duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager
o Working knowledge of OSHA regulations of workplace safety
Minimum Requirements
o High School diploma required
o One year working experience in facility maintenance.
o Basic understanding of HVAC, air handling equipment, electrical, plumbing and carpentry
o Forklift experience a plus but not required
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
