General Summary
Our busy, family- orientated private practice is expanding and looking to hire a vibrant, compassionate, and professional optician to meet our growing needs. Duties include assisting patients in frame and lens selection, educating patients on new technology in optics, adjusting and dispensing eyewear, interpreting and processing third party insurance, ordering lenses from labs, and final inspection of eyewear. We are looking to fill a European full-time position (30-36 hours/ week), second shift from 2pm to 8pm M-F with alternating Saturday mornings. Off every Sunday!

Essential Functions
Assisting patients in frame selection, ensuring a proper fit for the patient's measurements and prescription requirements
Interpreting prescription
Ability to educate the patient on the latest lens designs, materials, and coatings to suit the patient's needs
Interpreting insurance and calculating out-of-pocket costs
Process third party insurances
Ordering frames and lenses from lab
Perform final inspection of spectacles using a manual lensometer
Dispensing eyewear, contacts, and other optical goods
Adjusting glasses
Troubleshoot any problems that a patient may have with their eyewear
General repair to eyewear, including nosepads, screws, drillmount bushings, and temple cover replacements
Make appointments and check patients in using OfficeMate
Instruct patients on how to insert, remove, and care for contact lenses
Assisting patients with contact lens orders and rebates
Maintain an orderly and clean work station
Comfortable using computers and able to adapt to new software easily

Qualifications and Requirements
The ideal candidate for this position would have 2
years experience as an optician, but we are willing to train the right candidate. The candidate should have a working knowledge of the optics and the visual system and excel in math and customer service. This is a non-commissioned sales position and compensation is based on experience. Optician must be able to work on Saturday mornings and weekday evenings, and attend continuing education at least once per year outside of the office.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
